Good evening Jackson parents, students, and staff. This is a reminder that tomorrow is our first day of Spirit Week! Please look at the attached spirit week flyer for each day’s theme. Tomorrow is Halloween Costume day! Please remember that your costume should be school appropriate according to dress code, and we need to be able to see students’ faces to identify them. Students may wear hats and other accessories, but you cannot carry items with you throughout the day. We hope everyone has a great time! This is a final reminder that we will be having Trunk or Treat on Saturday from 6-8 pm on the football field weather permitting! Please come out and join us! If it is raining, we will be in the gym for this event! Have a great evening and Go Generals!

Good evening Jackson parents, students, and staff. This is Mr. Kisner with a few announcements for this week. First, picture retakes and fall sports pictures will be this Thursday, Oct. 20. If you want to have a retake or need a packet, those items are on the table in front of the office! I also want to mention that Fall Spirit Week will begin this Friday with costumes; more info on this will follow. Please make sure costumes do not have items that would be considered a weapon, students should not wear masks so they may be identified at all times. Thank you for your cooperation with this. Along these lines, I want to mention our JMS Trunk or Treat on October 22 from 6pm-8pm. This event will be on the football field unless it rains and then it will be held in the gym. If you would like to sponsor a table, please get in touch with Mrs. George or Miss Allodi. We are also taking candy donations for this event. The last thing I will mention is IPads. We have several IPad breakages occurring, mainly to screens. Remember that students are responsible for these items and if damaged may be charged for them. Many screen breakages occur because of putting the device inside a binder and it is compressed. If you could help by reminding students about this, it would be a great help. I hope you have a great evening, and Go Generals!

Wood County Schools has made a change regarding the caller ID number for all mass calls and texts in which we want you to be aware. Previously, all mass calls made from Wood County Schools, used for emergencies or other important information, whether from the central office or from any individual school, used the number (304) 420-9520 for the caller ID. Starting today, all school mass calls will show a caller ID number that is the same as the school's main telephone number. District calls will continue to show a caller ID of (304) 420-9520. The caller ID number for any individual school may be verified by visiting the school's webpage and finding the phone number in the footer of the page.

Good evening Jackson parents, students, and staff, Tomorrow, September 20, marks the midterm for the first nine weeks. All grades should be updated, and parents can access student grades through Schoology. If you have any questions or need a paper copy of a mid-term, please message your student's teacher on Schoology or give the school a call. We thank you for keeping updated with your student's course work! I also want to invite 8th grade students out to the 8th grade only tailgate next Wednesday, Sept 28. We will be having a tailgate hosted by JMS and the JMS Parent Teacher Organization! The event will start at 5:30, followed by the football game at 7pm! 8th graders are welcome to come and have food, listen to music, play games, and just socialize together before the game. If they wish to stay for the game, the student cost of admission is $4. Have a great evening and Go Generals!

Wood County Schools is again offering a damage waiver program for student iPads. The program allows families to pay an upfront fee at the beginning of the school year which reduces the cost of repair and replacement of the iPad of those enrolled. Families can buy in one student for $30 or pay $60 for a family plan, which includes 2 or more students. If a family paid for the damage waiver last year and did NOT have a claim, that payment is rolled over into this year and the family is automatically enrolled again. If a family paid for the damage waiver last year and DID have a claim, they can buy back in to the program by filling out and paying for a new damage waiver. The program does require a student ID number. Contact your child’s school if you do not know their student ID number. Visit our payment portal to purchase. https://woodcountyschoolswv.com/payment

Good evening Jackson parents, students, and staff, This is Mr. Kisner with a few announcements for the upcoming week. First, there will be a Parent Teacher Organization meeting on Wednesday, 9/14, at 5:15pm in the school cafeteria. We invite anyone that would like to take part to come out and be a part of this organization. Also, on Wednesday evening there will be a Fall Sports Bonfire in the back parking lot of the school starting at 7pm. We will introduce all our fall sports teams and the cheer squad will lead some school spirit cheers during this time. This event will last about 30-40 minutes and obviously is subject to weather. In the event of inclement weather, the event will not be held. The last thing I want to mention is Picture Day for all students on Thursday, 9/15. All students will have their pictures taken for the school yearbook and if you would like to order pictures you may do so. There are picture packets at the school, or you can order these online at my.lifetouch.com and putting in picture ID EVT7XZ98F. I hope you all have a wonderful evening and GO Generals!
