ATTENTION JUNIORS: Save the date (see below which one applies to you) for your SAT School Day test in April. One test per junior is provided by CollegeBoard so there is no need to register.
If you are a junior attending school in person, APRIL 13 is your test date for brick & mortar students.
If you are a junior in remote/distance learning or in WV virtual school, APRIL 27 is the designated date for you to take the SAT.
We are excited to announce that our Give Local Campaign will be on May 4th this year. This year we will focus on the Pride of Williamstown as they are working hard to raise $20,000 to purchase percussion equipment. Any businesses who are interested in being a Sponsor to provide matching funds for individual donations on that day can contact the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation to become a sponsor.

The Mobile Dental Clinic is coming to WMHS on April 13-14. This program is offered to students who have no dentist or have not been seen by a dentist in over 12 months.
If you indicated interest on your child's pink health card, a packet with information and a consent form was mailed home yesterday. Please return the consent form by Tuesday, April 6th, if you wish for your child to participate.
If you did not receive a packet but would like more information, please call Nurse Dawn at 304-375-6151 or send a note to school and we will send a packet home to you.

WVUP will be hosting a series of Division Showcases in March to share more about our programs.
Similar to the experience that a student would get with an on-campus group visit, our division chairs and faculty/students/staff will have a semi-structured panel style discussion about their programs, potential careers with their degrees and answer questions from the audience. These panels will be shared live on Facebook and Youtube and recorded and added to our website for any students who may have other evening engagements.

The Giving Room
The STARS and Key Clubs will be sponsoring a drive to stock the newly formed “Giving Room” here at WMHS. The drive will run from Monday, March 15 to Friday, March 19. This is the time students will be asking around for donations to provide for grade level challenges.
The Giving Room will be home for a food pantry, clothes closet and school supply room. During the drive we will be accepting food (targeting foods that our students can easily eat/prepare), new or like new clothing, new shoes (no used ones), and school/digital supplies. Thank you in advance for your assistance. All items will be free to our students.
We will end our drive with a “drive thru” drop off for the community on Saturday, March 20 from 9 AM – Noon in the back parking lot of the school (by the cafeteria).

Exciting news to share!!
1. There will be prom! It will be May 15th in the high school gym
2. Graduation will be Saturday, May 29th at 11:00 AM. (details will follow at a later date in regards to attendance)
3. Seniors last day will be Tuesday, May 25.
This is a reminder that mid-term grades for the 3rd nine weeks ended on Feb. 24, so be sure check your child’s mid-term grades on Schoology. Every parent/guardian should have a parent access code. If you do not, you can have your child log onto their Schoology and show you the grades, or call the school and request the parent access code. We will not be printing and sending home mid-term grades, so be sure to check on your child’s progress. The 3rd Nine Weeks Grading Period Ends March 26.
Reminders for Feb. 24th
- Senior Pictures and any students needing to get their school picture taken will be completed from 10-2 in the middle school gym. Senior Portraits will be completed first.
Also, this is the mid-term for the 3rd nine weeks. Announcements will be made to inform parents, and students when grading is completed. You will be able to access your child's grades through your parent account or you can have your student bring up their grades on their Schoology account.
Fees for the ACT on March 30 administered at PHS/PSHS can (must) be paid the first day students are back in school. Make checks payable to WHS with ACT March 30 in the memo.
Building Bridges To Careers is once again offering Discover Engineering Day! Normally, we are only able to send 10 students, but since this year it is a virtual event, the space is unlimited. This has been a FABULOUS experience for several years. Please attend if you are even the slightest bit curious about the field of Engineering. Attend even if you have already chosen this as your career path, for a chance at NETWORKING with local engineers of several disciplines of Engineering. You should be able to use the QR code in the attachment to register. If you need help registering, let me know.

· Gain knowledge about engineering careers
· Learn education and training needed to reach those engineering careers
· Participate in activities
· Network with businesses
· Explore job shadowing and internship possibilities
We will be having picture day on Wednesday Feb. 24 from 10-2. Senior pictures will be taken care of first, and then any student who has not been able to get their picture taken will be able to do so at this time.
All middle and high school practices are canceled tomorrow, Feb. 15, as the weather looks to get worse as the day progresses.
Seniors interested in taking the ACT on Tuesday, March 30th at PHS or PSHS, look for the sign-up form in the Counseling Department's "Seniors, Class of 2021" group in Schoology. This is for SENIORS ONLY. March 30 is during Spring Break, so there is no school that day. HARD DEADLINE is FEBRUARY 17, 2021
