JMS yearbooks arrived this morning. We will do our very best to have them sorted and to your homerooms to distribute during the final check in at 3 p.m.! Extras are available, and Ms. Linville will be selling tomorrow on the patio (outside Mr. Boston's room and the art room hallway) from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Books are $50, cash or check made payable to Jackson Middle School. If students have questions about orders, they should see her during that same time frame tomorrow on the patio. Supplements will be in during the summer, and we will arrange a time for outgoing eighth graders to pick up.

Good evening Jackson parents, students, and staff! This is a reminder that this Thursday 6th and 7th grade students will turn in their IPads! On Friday, 8th grade students will turn in their devices. Each student will need to have their device, charging chord, and charging block. If a student does not have any of these items, the county will note it and charge for these items. If you don’t have one of the items, you can turn these in next Monday or Tuesday as well. Also, I want to mention that students will be cleaning out lockers on Thursday and Friday; please look for these items coming home as well. Have a great evening and Go Generals!

This is a reminder concerning the 8th grade field trip for tomorrow. They can have their phones and may carry a drawstring bag if needed for Sunscreen or a hat. If students want to listen to music they will need to have headphones. They need to remember to bring money for lunch in the food court or their packed lunch if that was their choice. Have a great evening and Go Generals!

Join us for the USDA free summer meals program, a wonderful initiative aimed at ensuring that children have access to nutritious meals even when school is out. This program provides free meals for children and teens in low-income areas during the summer months, helping to bridge the nutrition gap that often occurs when school meals are not available. By participating in this program, you can help support the health and well-being of children in your community, ensuring they have the fuel they need to thrive and enjoy their summer activities to the fullest. Good evening Jackson parents, students, and staff. This week we will begin the General Summative Assessment. All students will be testing Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Anyone that has missed testing will make up as they are at school. Please remember that student devices should be completely charged in order to test on these dates. Also, student phones and smartwatches are not allowed during testing. Students need to secure these devices in their lockers. If you have a device, your teacher may ask you to remove it and you can get it back later. All students need to arrive on time for school each day. It is important to get a good night rest, and eat something in the morning before testing. Please help encourage students to perform your best on these Summative Assessments, as they are important for helping with instruction next year, as well as for students benefits later in their educational career. We hope you have a great evening and Go Generals!

The MOV Health Department will be at Jackson on Monday, April 8, to provide meningococcal and TDAP vaccinations. They will ONLY be given to students who have a signed consent form from a parent. These vaccination boosters are required before students can begin 7th grade, and this is a great opportunity to get them done in advance without missing instruction time. If you are interested, please email Nurse Cassie at candrews@k12.wv.us or call her at 304-420-9551.
