Unfortunately, the girls basketball game for this evening is cancelled. GBB will not practice. Sorry for the inconvenience! The game will be rescheduled.
Good evening, this is Mr. Kisner with a quick announcement concerning construction going on around the school. The side entrance, door 17, area is closed due to construction around that entrance. Therefore, if you must pick up a student there you will need to call the office and go on back to door 14 at the end of the parking lot by the back corner of the building. The number for the school is 304-420-9551.
This will take a couple of weeks possibly, if you are coming to an event at the school we will have signs pointing to the proper entrance. Sorry for this inconvenience. Have a great evening.

I apologize. On the message last evening, I made a mistake with the date notes and emails need received by to opt out of presentation. Those items need to be received by December 2 please. Sorry for the confusion.
Good evening,
To proactively address suicide prevention and remain in compliance with Jamie's Law, Senate Bill 230/House Bill 4568, requiring school administrators to provide opportunities to discuss suicide prevention information annually, we are working with a mental health agency to provide free, evidence-based education that discusses risk factors, warning signs, and things we can do to assist students in need. Students will hear a presentation during class the week of December 2 through 6. If they wish to speak to an adult about themselves or a friend in need, we will be providing follow-up sessions throughout the week. You will be contacted by school personnel regarding referral information and additional resources/services if your child was identified as being at a potential risk.
If you strongly wish that your child NOT be part of the presentation, please send an email or have your child bring in a note stating you do not wish they participate before December 3. These can be addressed to our school counselor, Mrs. Carpenter. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you and have a great evening.
Book Fair will be Dec. 2nd -6th in the library. It will be open from 8:00-3:30. Parents can go online and create an eWallet for their child. Here is the website: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/jacksonmiddleschool18
In attempt to ensure all our Jackson students have a wonderful Christmas, we are actively searching for those who 1. Need help, and 2. Wish to help. We would like to have all placements made by the 22nd, so please act fast. If you’ve already offered to help and have yet to hear back, it’s simply because we are waiting for Wishlists to return. Note: Operation Christmas is 100% confidential and all parties will remain anonymous.
Please reach out to Ms. George via cmgeorge@k12.wv.us or simply call the school if you’d like to participate.
Congratulations to the Jackson 8th grade Theater class for getting 1st Place in the Wood County Vaping Prevention video contest! Go Generals!

Good evening, this is Mr. Kisner with a couple of announcements.
First, I want to remind everyone that 1st nine weeks report cards will go home with students tomorrow! Also, I will remind you that if you want to schedule a parent/teacher conference for next Monday, November 4, you need to do that at your earliest convenience as availability becomes limited.
I would also like to mention that with early voting, we are experiencing more vehicles than usual at the community building. It may be a good idea for the rest of the week to talk to your student about picking up over at the tennis court area or the side parking lot. Just a reminder, we do not allow students to exit the side lot, they will have to exit the front or back of the building and walk to where ever you will be meeting them. Thank you for your time this evening and Go Generals!
Good evening, this is Mr. Kisner with a couple of announcements. This past Monday, students brought home information to schedule Parent/Teacher conferences, which will be November 4. Please try and get your conferences scheduled as soon as possible. Additional forms can be gotten in the office or students can ask their HR teacher.
I also want to mention that next week will be Spirit Week sponsored by our Student Council. Monday will be Dream Job Day, Tuesday is Twin Day, Wednesday is Teacher/Student Swap Day, Thursday is Halloween Day, and Friday is Workin’ for the Weekend. You can find this information on FB and our webpage as well in flyer form.
We hope you have a great weekend and Go Generals!
Good evening! Tomorrow afternoon, JMS will have our 1st nine weeks PBIS reward. If students have earned the reward they may want to bring money for Kona Ice. More than that you may want to remember the theme is Fall Festival and we will be outdoors. The temperature will be around 52 degrees, so please dress for the weather. We look forward to this event and Go Generals!
