Every year at this time we must fulfill a requirement of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) of 1986. It is our responsibility to notify in writing, parents/legal guardian, school staff and employee organizations of the availability of the Asbestos Management Plan for each facility. Please find the notification information for your facility on Wood County Schools' web page.

Fundraiser pick-ups
We found out early this evening that there has been an issue with the fundraiser delivery. It will not be arriving tomorrow. It will be arriving next Thursday. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The location of the girls' basketball game for this evening has been changed.
The game will be at 5:45 at Blennerhassett Elementary School.

Families,
Fundraiser items will be available for pick-up on Thursday, November 2 from 4:00-6:00. Come to the cafeteria doors and someone will help you get your items. If you have items that need refrigerated or frozen, please make sure to get them. We do not have refrigerator and/or freezer space to store them over night. A huge thank you to everyone that purchased items. The fundraiser made around $6,000. The profit from Fall Festival and the fundraiser will allow us to purchase items to promote student safety.

Williamstown Elementary will be recognized at the October 24 Board of Education Meeting for GSA scores. Keep up the great work parents!
Just an FYI about attendance ratings...
When the state looks at chronic absenteeism, they consider any child who misses more than 18 days in a school year chronically absent. It does not matter whether the absences are excused or unexcused.

Check out the news section of our web page for an article on school attendance. Everyday matters.
