The Community Care Club is partnering with Waverly Activity Center and collecting NEW hygiene items for Operation Christmas for MOV Kids. Operation Christmas for MOV Kids is a local charity that is providing Christmas gifts to local kids. We will be collecting items daily December 9th-13th. Please bring your new items to your science class where a member from the Community Care Club will pick up all collections. Donations can also be dropped off to the school anytime during the week.

Parents: Due to construction at the school, do NOT use the back parking lot from now until 2:00 pm. Please pick up and drop off students at the main office in front of the school. Students returning from internships should park in the front of the school down near the library and enter through the main office.

The counseling department wants to remind senior parents of the FAFSA workshop this Wednesday, December 4th in room 220 from 4-7 pm. This is a drop-in workshop for you get confidential assistance in filling out the form. The student and one parent (in most cases) must have an FSA ID to complete the FAFSA, which you can obtain at https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch. Round 1 of the State Football Playoffs will be this Saturday at 4:00 at home. Gates will open at 2:30. Reminder to all fans, only WVSSAC passes work for the playoffs, and students are not free. You must pre-purchase tickets on GoFan @ https://gofan.co/event/2313008?schoolId=WVSSAC. We will also have card readers at the main gate and the gate near the city park. We are still looking for a sponsor for the live stream if there are any businesses interested, please contact the athletic director at the school. We have to pay the WVSSAC to be able to live stream the event so the sponsorship fee will cover that cost.

Artistic students at it again. WMHS submitted entry's for the Wood County Vape prevention poster contest. Six of our students were recognized as winners within the county. Makayla Davidson (11th) placed 1st, Adrienne Kerr (9th) placed 2nd, Vanessa Richards (9th) placed 3rd. Aislinn McComas (11th), Nathaniel Hull (9th), and Kyla Dye (9th) all received honorable mentioned. We are proud of our students and hope they continue the good work.

The WMHS Science Fair was Friday, November 1st. There were approximately 60 competing middle school students, and an additional 60+ projects on display for exhibit. Numerous judges in the science/education fields spent their day interviewing and adjudicating participants. There were 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners as well as honrorable mentions in the different categories.
