Hello, this is Kenny DeMoss, Principal of Parkersburg High School with an important message to all staff, students, and parents. The Salvation Army is in desperate need of brand new bath towels. PHS is constantly looking for ways to serve our community. Starting Monday, 2/8, will start our TOWEL DRIVE. 1st period classes will be collecting brand new bath towels from M-Tr. At the end of the week, Student Council will help facilitate the pickup and delivery of the towels to the Salvation Army. The homeroom that collects the most towels will receive a prize! Please only donate a brand new bath towel. If you are a community member just willing to help, please just take your donation to the Salvation Army. We appreciate your assistance in helping with our community. Our goal is 500 towels!

This message is for students who completed West Virginia Learns Virtual School first semester. Their grades will be mailed separately showing what they earned the first semester.

Please stay safe and healthy.
Have a wonderful evening.

Good evening. I am not a heat expert by any means, but here is what I’ve been told or I know about today’s issues. Nowadays, everything runs off the internet. Last night there was a “boiler update” through the internet. The update caused the error. With the internet down this morning, the boilers couldn’t be fixed, the phones couldn’t be answered, and the doors couldn’t be electronically unlocked. Combine all of that with a cold day, we had to make a call to remote learn today. Since this morning, everything has been addressed. Traditionally our 100+ year old school runs a little cold anyways, so when it’s chilly outside you need to dress warm because you still might need that extra layer inside until you warm up. Thank you for being flexible today! We will see you tomorrow! Everything is working now!

2 hour delay schedule

This is Kenny DeMoss principal Parkersburg high school with an important message for all staff students and parents. Currently our school has a boiler issue and we have no Internet or heat. So with that being said all students will be going home for the day, buses will be turning around. If your student is already here we will make arrangements for them to call you and have you come pick them up. Teachers will be going elsewhere and they will be doing remote instruction by the two hour delay schedule. So students make sure you have your 2 hr delay schedule and you follow it. Attendance is required. If you have any further questions please email me at kdemoss@k12.wv.us. Thanks.

Good morning. All Wood County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay for Thursday, January 28, 2021. We will continue to re-evaluate road conditions throughout the morning. Thank you.

With a full week under our belt, I wanted to remind everyone about our security guard out back. You must have a parking tag as a student or employee to park in the back parking lot. No student should be leaving for lunch. If you have to leave for the Tech or Caperton center you need to make sure that you have a copy of your schedule with you. If you need to leave for an appointment you need to have a copy of your pink slip With you in order to leave. Failure to have a copy of your schedule, have a pink slip, and/or have/not have your parking tag will result in you not being able to enter or leave the lot based upon the situation. Please help us keep you safe by following the guidelines in place. Also parents if you need to drop anything off to your student it must come through our new main entrance in the horseshoe. Also, if you’re picking up your student for an appointment they must sign out through the man trap and exit the front of the building. Thank you and have a wonderful evening. KD
