Junior, Senior prom this year will be on Saturday May 1st at 7pm. Prom tickets are on sale in the admin office starting Thursday 4/15. Tickets will only be sold from 745-10am, during all lunches and after school until 330. Tickets are $30 dollars per person. If you are wanting a non-student to attend, guest applications are in also available. All guest applications are due by Friday, April 23rd . The last day to purchase a ticket will be on Friday, April 30th, at the end of 3rd lunch at 12:50. All Juniors and Seniors can purchase their prom tickets at the previously mentioned times. If your date is a sophomore, then they must accompany you when you purchase your tickets unless your date is a virtual/remote student. In that case, we must have a note from their parent when you come to buy their ticket that they will be attending. Those students must also be eligible to attend. Your outside guest form must be approved before you can buy your tickets as well.
When you come to purchase your prom ticket, it may be possible that you are on prom probation and you will not be able to purchase a ticket. If that is they case, you will have a conversation with Mrs. Ray on what the issue is. A Principal has the right to approve or disapprove you going to the prom based upon attendance, or behavior, or any other school related issue. There are no exceptions to this rule. Going to prom is a privilege and not a right, and if it important to you and to your student to go to prom then they should be following school guidelines faithfully.
It’s important to keep your ticket and have a student ID since both will be required to enter Prom. You will be required to wear a mask of the duration of prom. We will only be taking temperatures and asking questions for Covid related entry; nothing else will be required like a proof of test or vaccine. We will also be selling VIP parking passes for the front horseshoe which also get you to the front of the line for and additional $20.
More information about Prom will be coming as we get closer. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 304-420-9595.

The Journal is now available online at phsjournal.com !
Beth Koreski, journalism advisor, says this about the new format:
"In addition to reducing our impact on the environment, this online format allows us to publish more timely articles and share them more broadly with parents, alumni and community members. In addition to our usual news, feature and opinion articles, we also have sports scores and schedules, a link to WPHS, COVID tips, a Spotify playlist and even a countdown clock for seniors."

Covid vaccination is protection for your family as well as our school and community. An added benefit to being fully vaccinated against Covid-19 is not having to quarantine if exposed to a positive case of Covid-19… as long as the exposed individual remains asymptomatic. This will help to keep your child consistently in school and participating in other activities.
If you prefer to be present at school with your child while they are vaccinated or if you have indicated that you would like to also be vaccinated, those arrangements can be made with your school nurse.
Please complete the vaccine consent form and return it to your school nurse today to reserve your vaccines. If you have further questions please call us at 304-420-9595.
