The school year may be over, but it's never to early to mark your calendar! The 2024-2025 school year will host Open House on Monday, August 19. Elementary schools will be from 4 to 6 pm and middle and high schools (including WCTC/Caperton Center) from 5 to 7 pm. Grizzlies! As you enjoyed your first day of summer break, our staff was at school today having meetings and being trained in CPR/AED/Bleed Kit. Just like our students, we continue to grow and learn. In a time when education is changing rapidly, one of the constants has been the absolute awesome job our staff does. I can't thank our staff enough for all of the hard work, expertise, and dedication it puts forth each and every day . I know that I see the huge impact our staff makes and I sincerely hope our Greenmont community does as well. On behalf of the best staff in our great state, have a wonderful summer break!

Great Grizzlies! We had another awesome day today between our 4th Nine Weeks' awards assembly and reward activity. On Friday, May 31 we will have our final safety drills of the year at 8:40am then we have the talent show at 1:30pm. On Monday, June 3 we will have a brief ceremony by our playground as we dedicate our Student Council's "Buddy Bench" in honor of Greenmont alumni, Evan Pritchett. We are very proud of our Student Council for raising money for this special bench that will bring students together for years to come. The Cook's Choice lunch on June 3 is a calzone. The final day of school is Tuesday, June 4 and our cook's choice lunch that day is corn dogs. Class assignments, report cards, attendance certificates, honor roll certificates, 2024-25 suggested supply lists and an end of the year letter will be in the mail a week or two after the last day of school. Thank you all for a phenomenal year so far at Greenmont!

Greenmont Archers, We apologize for the short notice, but archery practice today is cancelled so that we can set up for our fifth grade graduation. Archery practice will be held Thursday after school.

Dear Greenmont Foodies! On May 20th (FIELD DAY) our school lunch will be turkey sandwiches, chips, veggies and a cookie. Students may choose to bring their own bag lunch of course. Our Partner In Education, United Bank, will be providing bottled water and bananas for all students on FIELD DAY (May 20). May 24 lunch will be PIZZA as we are switching Monday with Friday's lunch that week.

Reminder, Wood County Schools will be closed Tuesday, May 14, 2024, for Primary Election Day. Classes resume Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Great News! Our Boys 10U track team won the Wood County Track Championship and our 11-12 Girls earned second place! Individually, Bronson Farley set the record for the softball throw and Charlotte Eakle set the record for the girls 200 meter dash! We are absolutely proud of our student-athletes and are thankful for our coaches, Maggie Greer and Nicole Martin. Way to go Grizzlies!

Dear Greenmont Track Members, There will be a Greenmont Track team celebration on Thursday, May 9 from 3:10pm-4:00pm. This party is for our track team members only as a little something to thank them for their hard work and dedication. This party will be held in the outdoor classroom (gymnasium if its pouring the rain down). Please contact our coaches if you have any questions.

Good Evening, Our PTA will be held tonight at 6:30pm in our library. All are welcome to attend. Tomorrow night our school will have an LSIC meeting/presentation at the Jack Stephens Gym (PHS) from 6:00-8:00pm. Other schools from "north side" will be there as well.

Grizzlies! Cook's Choice lunch for FRIDAY, April 26 will be calzone/stromboli, onion rings, pinto beans, fruit and your choice of milk.

Hello Greenmont, Author Diana Perry, will be visiting Greenmont on Friday, May 10 to teach students about "My Science of Weather". Mrs. Perry is the author of a few books and an order form is coming home tomorrow if you wish to purchase any. Our school does not receive any funds from the sale as all proceeds go to the author who is providing our students a free presentation full of stories and experiments. Please be on the lookout for further information.

Greenmont Carnival! Our PTA carnival is tonight from 5-7pm. Those with prepaid wristbands can enter at the KG end doors (which saves them time). For all other visitors, we ask that you enter through the main doors by the office. Tables will be set up inside to purchase wristbands for $20 or tickets. Food trucks will be parked outside from Aunt Ks Kitchen, Jaimes Tacos and Mandy Jo's Treats. Thank you to all of our donating parents and staff!
