Please be mindful of your speed when you are on Caroline Avenue to drop off or pick up your child in the prek parking lot. We have students who walk to and from school and who play in that area. We want to make sure everyone is safe.

Homecoming Week September 23rd-27th

Families,
Please do not park and pick up students in the bus loop. This interferes with the driver's routine. Parent pickups are to use the parent pick up line in front of the school.

The new mulch has arrived. Ray is busy spreading piles on the playground. If you have a pitchfork, rake, or shovel then come on over and help spread! The sooner we get it spread, the sooner the kids can play on the new equipment. You are welcome to spread anytime today or this evening. Just sign in the office. Volunteers may also help out tomorrow.

Dear Wood County Schools’ families: Thank you for your courage, patience, and understanding this week as our school personnel and law enforcement agencies worked together to keep our schools safe. We are fortunate for the relationship between our school system and law enforcement. Wood County Schools would like to express gratitude and appreciation for the law enforcement agencies throughout our county and state who provided support to Wood County Schools this week. Thank you to the Parkersburg Police Department, Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Vienna Police Department, Williamstown Police Department, and the Capitol Police. -- Christie M. Willis -- Superintendent

Wood County Schools has investigated a threat made at Williamstown Middle High School. Discipline was issued yesterday September 11th. Additional information was brought forth and investigated. The student has been suspended from school and further action is pending. There is no threat to students at this time.

We have been made aware of false information circulating on social media stating that Williamstown Elementary and Williamstown Middle/High School are on lockdown. This information is **not true**. There is no lockdown at either school, and all operations are proceeding as normal.

Wood County Schools is aware of an online threat targeting various school systems across West Virginia. We take every threat seriously and are actively monitoring the situation. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and we are working closely with local law enforcement to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken. We will continue to keep our community informed as we gather more information. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Please complete the acceptable use policy with your child. We are required to keep a record of who has signed and if your child does not have one on file, we can restrict iPad access.
In an effort to save trees, we encourage the online policy. However, if you do not have access, send a note and we can send a paper copy home.
Have a terrific Thursday!

We will be having a special assembly on Thursday. In honor of our special guest, we will have a superheroes spirit day. Wear your favorite superhero t-shirt!
