Families,
Tonight at 6:30 the Williamstown Fire Department will be having a Fire Parade in honor of our Boys' Basketball Team. The boys won the Wood County Elementary Boys' Basketball Tournament last night with a win over Greenmont. Players are to report to the Williamstown Rest Area at 6:20. Everyone else is invited to cheer them on as they travel the parade route.
The Parent Code for the Survey is PO96235
Families,
All schools in Wood County have been asked to participate in a survey from the WVDE.
Info from WVDE
Parents are asked to complete an online survey about school climate—the learning and teaching/working conditions—to help guide school improvement efforts. The results of this survey will be used to make changes in their child's school to ensure a supportive environment for teaching and learning. The survey may be completed from any computer with an internet connection.
Your responses are anonymous.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey. The link will be available through April 12, 2024.

If you returned the permission form, your students will be taking the survey after Spring Break. Staff will also be taking a survey in April.
Thank you for helping us grow and improve.
Skating Party @ 4:30-6:30 today. See you at Skate Country. Students must be accompanied by an adult.
Just a reminder that we have a skating party Sunday afternoon at Skate Country. The party will be 4:30-6:30. All students must be accompanied by an adult.
Calendar update: In order to account for missed school days due to inclement weather, students will now attend school on May 31 as well as June 3 and 4. Preschool will attend May 28 and 29. For staff, June 5 will be a curriculum development day (students do not attend) and June 6 will be a day to prepare for the end of the school year (students do not attend).
We need your help to keep students and staff healthy. If your child starts throwing up in the evening or through the night, do not send them to school the next day. The rule of thumb is your child should be "puke" free for 24 hours before returning to school. The same rule applies to fevers. A child should be fever free (without medication) for 24 hours before returning to school. If a child is vomiting and does not have a fever, they should still stay home until they are vomit free for 14 hours. Thank you!
Families of students in grades 3-5
Today or tomorrow your child will be bringing home a permission form to participate in a student survey. Please consider signing and returning the form. All Wood County Schools have been asked to participate in the survey. The information will help us to better serve your children. A parent survey link will be sent out in the near future.

The water advisory will continue through 11:00 AM tomorrow. Please make sure to send your child with a full water bottle. We will have bottled water available if needed. We have been advised by the health department to have students use hand sanitizer and not wash their hands at school. We will continue this practice through 11:00 AM tomorrow. Thanks for your help!
This is just an FYI. We did have an unexpected fire drill today. A sensor in the kitchen went off when the cooks pulled a large pan of steaming spaghetti out. This caused the fire alarm to go off. Maintenance will be coming to check the sensor. Lunch and learning are back on track! We did not contact the fire department or call 911, as the students were not in any danger.
