Happy Friday! I just wanted to provide some clarification on our water issues yesterday. 1. The boil advisory and the temporary loss of water flow at the school were unrelated events that occurred simultaneously. 2. The lack of water in the building was due to repairs that Culligan Water technicians were making to our water softener system. 3. The boil advisory was related to a water test that was conducted at the apartments near the school. The Williamstown Water Department was not responsible for the lack of water supply at the school yesterday. It was an internal problem (valve shut off). It was resolved in under 30 minutes. All is well today :) The water is running and we have wipes and bottled water until the advisory is lifted. We anticipate that to happen around 10:30. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Water Boil Advisory Update We have running water! Bottled water was purchased today and additional bottles will be delivered tomorrow. We have wipes for the kids to wash their hands. The water will be re-tested at 10:30 AM on Friday. If the water is safe, then the advisory will be lifted. Tomorrow will be a normal school day with added water safety precautions in place. If you choose to keep your child at home tomorrow, it will be an excused absence.

You do not need to call the school and let us know. Just check in the office. Thanks.

We are currently experiencing issues with our water supply. Parts of the building are without water. We are also under a water boil advisory. Emergency water is on the way and we have put wipes out to allow for hand washing. We do not have an estimated time for repairs. If you would like to pick your child up from school, it will be an excused absence. We do have lunch available for the kids. It was prepared prior to the service disruption.

https://securevolunteer.com/WOOD-COUNTY-SCHOOLS/choose-screen Just a reminder that background checks must be completed at the beginning of each school year. Checks from last year are no longer valid. Background checks are required to volunteer in classrooms or at school events that occur during the school day.

Our Color Run will be on Friday, starting at 12:45. If you did not receive information on Friday you should receive it today. Williamstown Bank is sponsoring the event and has volunteers coming, but we could use a few more. Volunteers will need to have a background check. If you can help out Friday afternoon, please email me at lcumpsto@k12.wv.us.

Homecoming Information The weather may cause a change in parade plans. The final decision will be made tomorrow at 3:00. If the weather for Friday looks bad and the weather for Thursday looks good. The parade will be rescheduled. We will follow the same procedure on Thursday that we have planned on Friday. Also, to clarify, if you marked car pick-up for Friday, we are anticipating that you are picking your child up early for the parade. Parents will not need to come in the office to sign your children out. Just go through the car line like we normally do at dismissal. Your children will be in the gym and we will send them out when your pick up number is called. If you have not returned your Homecoming Plan form to school, please do so. This will help things run smoother for everyone on parade day :)

I made a mistake when I said that it was the cheerleaders selling the tattoos. It will be the Jackettes. They can not be purchased ahead of time. The girls will be here Friday to sell them. If you send money in, please place it in an envelope or baggie with your child's name.
