Attendance Matters!

Parents: It has been a great first day so far.
I think there was some congestion in the back parking lot this morning. As a reminder, students can be dropped off and picked up out front, or out back. The back parking lot can also be easily accessed from the city park. If your child wants breakfast and you would like to avoid the back parking lot, there is a sidewalk that runs right along the school between the library and the auditorium wing so students could be dropped off out front, on that end of the building as well.
The public library is open at dismissal, please do not park in their parking lot to pick up your child. Those spaces are reserved for patrons of the library only.

Good evening! We want to remind you about our back-to-school open house tomorrow, Monday, August 19th. Our elementary open house will be from 4 to 6 p.m. and our middle, high, WCTC and Caperton will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Students' first day back to school will be Wednesday, August 21st. We're excited to see you and kick off a fantastic year!

Parents and community members: Our secretarial staff will be in trainings tomorrow morning. Please be patient when trying to stop by and or call the school. If at all possible, plan to call or stop by in the afternoon.

Good afternoon WMHS parents and guardians! As we prepare to roll out our new communications platform called Rooms, we wanted to let you know that WMHS has graciously volunteered to roll out the feature with our athletic teams first in the county. You may have received an invitation to join last evening. If your child is not involved with a sport or you didn't receive the invite, no worries! Parent invites will begin rolling out on Aug. 20th via email. If your email address on file in the WMHS office is not up-to-date, not to worry. On Aug. 21 a second invitation will go out via a text message. We are looking forward to this new way of communicating and we believe you will as well! Want to get started? Go ahead and visit your phone's app store and download the WCS app. Watch for further directions next week. Download app... https://www.woodcountyschoolswv.com/page/wcs-app

We hope to see you there!
