WMHS office hours will begin at 11:00 am tomorrow due to Open House tomorrow evening.

Announcements for WMHS students and families:
- Open house is Tuesday Aug. 16 from 4:45 - 6:45, along with Outback Dinner. The middle school office and main office will be open out front for parents/students to come in and tour the school and meet their teachers.
- Those who are attending the Outback Dinner will need to come in through the cafeteria.
- Schedules and locker information can be found at the following locations:
11th - 12th grade Mrs. Mayo in the main office
9th and 10th grade students go to Mrs. Chaddock in the Athletic Office
All middle school students in the middle school office with Mrs. Lemley
- Reminder that if a student decorates the inside of their locker, they MUST use magnets and not tape.
- High School students are to go to Caperton or Tech Center the first day of school. Students are to ride the bus and NOT drive the first day until the appropriate paperwork is filled out. Morning bus leaves at 7:45 AM
- 7th grade students will meet with the STEAM teachers from the Caperton center Thursday morning. 8th graders will travel by bus to the Caperton center in the afternoon.
Students are NOT allowed to park at the Old Elementary School.

6th Grade Orientation is tomorrow, August 11 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. Students can be dropped off at the MIDDLE SCHOOL OFFICE in the back parking lot beginning at 3:30. Parents will meet with Mr. Ward in the auditorium at 5:30 PM. We will provide a brief overview and Q&A session as students wrap up their tour of the school. Parents/guardians of new enrollees are welcome to join us for this as well. We look forward to another fantastic school year!

We have several points of information to share along as we get ready for the upcoming school year.
1. 7th and 8th grade schedules may be picked up in the Middle School Office this Tuesday, Aug. 09. The schedule currently only shows the 1st nine weeks and does not have the locker information yet, as the state adopted a new platform that is having some difficulties.
2. There are 10 parking spaces still available, but our secretaries will be out on Monday for required training, so if you would still like one you will need to come on Tuesday to the middle school office. Parking is NOT allowed this year at the old elementary school.
3. 6th grade orientation is this Thursday, Aug. 11. The orientation will last from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Students can be dropped off at the cafeteria between 3:30 - 4:00 in the cafeteria. Parents can return to meet with Mr. Ward in the auditorium at 5:30. Any parents/guardians of new students are welcome to attend at this time as well.
4. Open house will be on Tuesday, Aug. 16 from 4:45 - 6:45.

Attention Seniors: Tomorrow, Aug. 03 and 04, parking spaces on campus will be available to purchase in the MIDDLE SCHOOL office with Mrs. Lemley. The cost is $30.
Juniors will be allowed to purchase remaining available spots beginning Friday, Aug. 05.

As of June 08th, the DMV is no longer requiring Proof of Enrollment from the school system. So you will no longer need to come to the school to pick one up before going to the DM V.

If you are attending summer school at PHS there will be a mandatory meeting on Monday the 13th in auditorium at 8am prior to classes starting. You will be dismissed from there to start the day. Any questions please call 304-420-9595

Class of 2022! Please check your Counseling Schoology group for important information about a scholarship with a deadline of July 15! Some of the requirements are:
• Be accepted as a full-time student at a college or university in West Virginia or Ohio for the upcoming academic year.
• Planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree in a STEM program that will support a career in Chemical Manufacturing (example majors include Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Material Science, Environmental Sciences, IT, and Sustainability).
• Applicants must complete and submit a scholarship application by July 15, 2022
