Wood County Schools' open enrollment process will change for the 2024-2025 school year. All open enrollment requests are to be made beginning on January 16 at noon on our website at woodcountyschoolswv.com/enrollment. The enrollment is also available on the WCS app. If your child currently attends a school out of district, or you would like for your child to attend a school out of district, you will need to complete an online application. Although the form is simple to complete, if you feel you may need some assistance with the application process, or you do not have access to a device or the internet, all secretaries at our schools have an iPad and can assist you beginning at noon on Tuesday, January 16. If you child attends the school that corresponds to your home address, and you wish for this to continue, there is no action needed on your part.

Good afternoon, This is a reminder that when coming to pick up your child in the afternoon, you cannot block the entrance to the middle school. There are middle school parents that need to pick up their child for appointments and cannot get through. Thank you.

Good evening Blennerhassett families, I wanted to remind everyone that the PTA will be hosting our Secret Santa shop all next week for students to purchase items. Students will visit the shop on days that they have Mrs. Sanders for gym. The PTA is also looking for additional volunteers to help work in the shop next week. Please see the Blennerhassett Elementary PTA Facebook page for a link to sign up to help. One additional item is that, we would like for students to keep their personal Elf on the Shelf at home. The elves have caused some distractions in the classroom, and we want to maximize student learning the best that we can. Thank you for understanding and have a good weekend.

Every year at this time we must fulfill a requirement of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) of 1986. It is our responsibility to notify in writing, parents/legal guardian, school staff and employee organizations of the availability of the Asbestos Management Plan for each facility. Please find the notification information for your facility on Wood County Schools' web page.

Good evening, This is Kristin Garretson, principal of Blennerhassett Elementary. I wanted to remind everyone that our school Halloween parade will be tomorrow, October 25th at 1:30 pm. The parade will be located at the track behind the school. Please do not send your child in their costume to school. Students should bring their costume in their backpack and they will get dressed before the parade. Also, there should be no fake weapons with any costume. There will be no school for students on October 26th or 27th. October 26th will be for parent teacher conferences and October 27th will be professional learning for staff. Thank you and have a great evening.
