PARKERSBURG—Exciting improvements are on the horizon for Parkersburg South High School as plans for major upgrades to the Erickson All-Sports Facility are officially underway! The highly anticipated project will include a brand-new turf for the football field, along with other enhancements to the facility, ensuring a state-of-the-art experience for student-athletes and fans alike.

The new turf installation will provide a safer, more durable playing surface for the Patriots’ football team, as well as other sports and activities that utilize the field throughout the year. These improvements mark a significant investment in the school’s athletic programs, promising long-term benefits for the entire Parkersburg South community.

“This is an incredible step forward for our school and athletic teams,” said Parkersburg South Athletic Director Jennifer Null. “The upgrades to Erickson All-Sports Facility will enhance player safety, improve field conditions, and elevate the overall game-day experience.”

As the project kicks off, school officials are reminding everyone to prioritize safety. During the construction phase, the football field and surrounding work zones will be strictly off-limits to students, parents, and visitors.

“We know everyone is eager to see the progress, but for everyone’s safety, we ask that people stay clear of the work area until construction is complete,” said Kaleb Lawrence, Assistant Superintendent of Operations. “The result will be well worth the wait!”

The upgrades are expected to be completed in time for the 2025 football season, setting the stage for an unforgettable year of Patriot athletics. Stay tuned for progress updates and get ready for a thrilling new era at Parkersburg South’s Erickson All-Sports Facility!
