WILLIAMSTOWN—Exciting changes are coming to Williamstown Middle/High School as a long-awaited project to upgrade the school’s football field and facilities is finally underway! After months of planning and anticipation, crews have officially begun work on installing a brand-new turf field, ensuring a top-tier playing surface for student athletes.

The project, which has been highly anticipated by students, parents, and Yellow Jacket fans alike, will transform the school’s football field into a modern, high-performance facility. With the upgrades scheduled for completion before the start of the 2025 football season, players and spectators can look forward to an enhanced game-day experience.

“This is a huge step forward for our school and our athletic programs,” said Williamstown Athletic Director Jill Bryant. “The new turf will provide a safer, more durable playing field that benefits not only our high school and middle school football teams but also soccer teams, and marching band. In addition, this will be a beautiful location for graduation and other events."

While excitement is at an all-time high, school officials are also reminding the community that safety comes first. During the construction period, the entire football field and surrounding work zone will be strictly off-limits to students, parents, and visitors.

“We know everyone is eager to see the progress, but for everyone’s safety, we ask that people stay clear of the work area until construction is complete,” said Kaleb Lawrence, Assistant Superintendent of Operations. “The result will be well worth the wait!”

As updates continue, the community is encouraged to follow the school’s official channels for progress reports and further announcements. Get ready, Williamstown—the 2025 football season is going to be one to remember!
