Lowers named principal of Jefferson Elementary
PARKERSBURG - Tina Lowers has been named principal of Jefferson Elementary Center.
Lowers has been with Wood County Schools for 16 years, starting at Vienna Elementary teaching grade 6 and then moving on to Greenmont Elementary as a PreK teacher for 11 years. Lowers spent 3.5 years at Jefferson Elementary as the C&I assistant principal before becoming principal at Van Devender Middle School.
“I was fortunate to continue serving my Jefferson students through the next phase of their academic pathways as they entered middle school,” she said. “Now, I have returned ‘home’ to Jefferson Elementary and look forward to many great things to come as we provide the foundation for academic and personal lifelong skills.”
Lowers is a former Wood County Schools student, attending Rockport Elementary, Mineral Wells Elementary, Edison Junior High and graduating from PSHS. She attended WVUP and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education K-8 and continued via MUGC to receive a Masters in Education and a Masters in Educational Leadership.
“Jefferson has a lot of exciting new programs and staff to welcome back our students. We’ve also undergone a lot or updates and improvements to the building and grounds that we can’t wait to share,” Lowers said. “Most importantly, we look forward to starting the school year and spreading the word, ‘Welcome to Jefferson - There’s a SPOT for you!’ Go Jaguars!”
