PreK ended Dr. Seuss week participating in many engaging activities. The Lorax Day- fine motor cutting and gluing patterning 2 and 3 color truffala trees. Rhyming with “Green Eggs and Ham” and counting with the “Foot Book” to end the week. Check out the fun they had.

Please mark your calendars!!! Safety meeting is scheduled for Thursday April 2, 2026. We will have two meetings at 8:00-9:00 and 1:00-2:00 in the cafeteria. We will go over procedures and be open to answer any questions. Jeremy Bell the safety director for Wood County Schools will attend the 8:00-9:00 session. Mrs. Shawver’s class had fun sewing pockets for their wockets, rolling and covering goldfish(1 fish, 2 fish) and had 2 guest readers.

For our 2nd nine-weeks good behavior reward, classes played Bingo-and Mrs. Morgan's class did an excellent job identifying shapes. Winners received small prizes, and the students had a wonderful time celebrating their positive behavior.

Regular attendance is essential in elementary school, as it builds strong learning habits and ensures students don't miss important instruction. Mrs. Thomas's students demonstrated this commitment and earned a directed drawing reward for coming to school consistently. Great job, students!



Thanks to their great attendance, Mrs. Gray's class earned a fun reward- they'll be playing a game of Heads Up, Seven Up!


Mrs. Morgan's students earned a campout reward for their excellent attendance. Remember, once a class earns 10 stars, students get to spin the wheel for a classroom reward.










A little late due to the weather, but no less important- congratulations to our PreK students who earned the December Sting Award!


Mrs. Jones' class had excellent attendance and earned a free-choice activity. They chose to build blanket tents and use flashlights. The students did a great job and had a wonderful time.

Last Friday Mrs. Carsey's class celebrated the 100th day of school. This year is flying by.

Mrs. Shawvers' class built tents during nap time because they had great attendance. Look how much fun they had.



Mrs. McEwuen hosted a lively and engaging math night for students and their families. Everyone had the chance to explore fun, hands-on ways to practice math at home together. Even better, the strategies shared were all researched-based, helping students build strong math concepts and grow as independent learners. It was an exciting and meaningful evening for all.

Wood County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, February 9, 2026, due to single-digit morning temperatures and challenging conditions on some secondary roads.
