Sunday Night Phone Call

Sunday Night Announcement; 04/13/25

Good evening, Martin Ram families. This is Principal Tom Wheeler with a weekend update and a look at the week coming up.

As we head into this week, know that, for the students, that there is only four school days this week with a three-day weekend coming up. Friday, April 18th is a no-school day for the kids as all school staff will be having Faculty Senate and a professional learning day.

On Monday, April 14th, beginning at 6:00, our Title 1 folks will be hosting LEGO Night. Everybody who attends will receive a snack. Kids will also receive a free book and a LEGO set. This promises to be a great time and we hope all will come out and join us for this event. You can’t hardly beat free snacks and free LEGOs!

Elementary Track boys and girls have been practicing for a few weeks, having started before spring break. Now it’s time to show what we can do. Our first two meets of the season are on Monday, April 14th and Tuesday, April 15th. Monday will all girls and Tuesday will be all boys. The meets this year start at 6:00 and will take place at Parkersburg High School Stadium Field. Athletes should be there at the time designated by the coaches.

On Wednesday, our 5th graders will be headed over to Blennerhassett Elementary School for a concert by the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra and the Ohio Brass. As a special treat, one of our Martin Elementary Band students will be playing with the Ohio Brass. 5th grade student Drew Smith has been asked to play trombone during the concert. Great job Drew!

Finally, we wrap up the week for the kids with report cards going home on Thursday, April 17th. Look for those to be in backpacks and folders.

It sounds like we will have nice, spring time weather this week. I hope you all have a great week. Thanks for listening and I will see you in the morning.

And never forget, Martin Rams are Always Climbing!
