Ritchie Regional is offering multiple immunization clinics during May. Be prepared for the 2024-25 school year by ensuring your student is current with their immunizations!
Contact your respective campus or call or text 304-643-4005 to schedule an appointment. If your child attends a school where we have a campus, they can be seen during school hours with parental consent.
REMINDER:
*West Virginia state law and rules require that all children entering school in West Virginia for the first time in grades K-12 must show proof of immunization against diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B unless properly medically exempted.
*The meningococcal & Tdap vaccines are required for 7th graders.

Buses may be delayed this morning due to high water in several areas across the county. We appreciate your patience as we work to safely pick up and deliver students this morning.

All Wood County Schools after-school and evening activities will be CANCELLED tonight (Tuesday, April 2, 2024) due to incoming inclement weather. Schools will dismiss at their normal times today.

All HMS Students will take the West Virginia Writing Assessment this Wednesday, March 6. 2024. Please make every effort to make sure your student is in attendance and well rested on Wednesday and arrives at school on time.

Calendar update: In order to account for missed school days due to inclement weather, students will now attend school on May 31 as well as June 3 and 4. Preschool will attend May 28 and 29. For staff, June 5 will be a curriculum development day (students do not attend) and June 6 will be a day to prepare for the end of the school year (students do not attend).

The HMS LSIC will hold a public meeting this Thursday from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM in room 100. We invite all members of the HMS community to attend and share any concerns or suggestions regarding our school.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The Wood County Board of Education will meet in special session Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, to conduct candidate interviews and appoint an interim board member to a vacant seat. The board has consulted with the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office and the Wood County Clerk’s Office and has been advised, due to election cycle deadlines, a selection must be made by February 12, 2024.
The online application period for those interested in applying for the interim position will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 12. The board meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. to announce the candidates and interviews will begin at 6:00 p.m. An appointment announcement will follow the completion of the interviews on February 12.
Those submitting an application by Sunday, February 11, will be informed of their interview time before 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12. Applicants submitting applications on Monday, February 12, will be contacted as applications are received throughout the day to have interviews arranged for that evening.

Wood County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, January 22, 2024.

Wood County Schools will be closed on Friday, January 19, 2024 due to inclement weather.

Due to icy road conditions and frigid temperatures, Wood County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

Open enrollment starts today. Complete the form at woodcountyschoolswv.com/enrollment. Need some assistance or do not have access to the form? Visit your school office. The central office, at 1210 13th St. in Parkersburg, is another option for assistance with completing the form.

Open Enrollment begins at noon today (Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024). If you would like your child to attend a school outside of your current attendance zone, you must complete the online enrollment form. The link opens at noon today.
