-Children are to bring their costumes in their backpack we will assist them with putting them on as needed before walking to the track. Please, no face paint or full-face masks. Please make sure your child wears something that allows their costume to go over it.
-Please keep small pieces to costumes at home so that they do not get lost. Accessories that include a knife, gun, or other weapon are not permitted at school.
-Each grade will make one lap around the track and then they will watch the other grades before making the final lap with all students.
-You are welcome to take photos during the parade. Please be aware of children in the background when posting photos on social media. We do have children that do not have permission to be posted on social media for safety reasons.

-Once students complete the final lap, they will return to their classroom to gather their backpacks. If you wish to take your child with you after the parade, please send a note with them letting the staff know and meet them in the designated dismissal area listed below.

Emerson Families,
For the safety of all students, once a child is released by their teacher he/she needs to remain with the pickup person at all times. Younger siblings also should remain with an adult and families should move away from the school building to allow for proper space for our teachers to dismiss. Please refrain from climbing on the handrails and fence and allow adequate space around the steps and vehicles. Please park and come to the dismissal area as we can not release students to walk through the parking lot unattended. We are also asking to keep pets away from dismissal. Thank you for helping to keep dismissal and all of our students safe.

Dear Wood County Schools’ families: Thank you for your courage, patience, and understanding this week as our school personnel and law enforcement agencies worked together to keep our schools safe. We are fortunate for the relationship between our school system and law enforcement. Wood County Schools would like to express gratitude and appreciation for the law enforcement agencies throughout our county and state who provided support to Wood County Schools this week. Thank you to the Parkersburg Police Department, Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Vienna Police Department, Williamstown Police Department, and the Capitol Police. -- Christie M.
