Wood County Schools is again offering a damage waiver program for student iPads. The program allows families to pay an upfront fee at the beginning of the school year which reduces the cost of repair and replacement of the iPad of those enrolled. Families can buy in one student for $30 or pay $60 for a family plan, which includes 2 or more students. If a family paid for the damage waiver last year and did NOT have a claim, that payment is rolled over into this year and the family is automatically enrolled again. If a family paid for the damage waiver last year and DID have a claim, they can buy back in to the program by filling out and paying for a new damage waiver. The program does require a student ID number. Contact your child’s school if you do not know their student ID number. Visit our payment portal to purchase. https://woodcountyschoolswv.com/payment

Kindergarten using phones to whisper read a story.
Criss Families: This is a friendly reminder that during morning drop off from 7:30 to 7:50, sidewalk drop off is for students ONLY to get out of the car. Please do not exit the car with your children as this holds up our drop-off line. If your child requires assistance getting out of a car seat OR you would like to walk them to the front door, you are more than welcome. We love chatting with you in the mornings! However, you need to park in either parking lot or at the back lot of Krogers. Also, as a reminder, TARDY is 7:50. We are starting a new program this week that recognizes students that are not tardy during a 9 week period. Please make every effort to have your child here on time each day. We are setting examples and developing habits that will follow them their entire lives. It is a great day to be a Criss Cougar!
Wood County Schools will be canceling TREK this week due to staffing issues. Therefore, buses will not transport students that attend Franklin Elementary for TREK grades 3-5. Franklin Elementary students will report as normal. We apologize for this inconvenience and look forward to resuming TREK next week. Have a great evening!
3rd Grade Science Experiment - Rolling Marbles
Wood County Schools' internet provider has a fiber line down between Charleston and Parkersburg. Their crews are on site and there is no ETA on when the line will be repaired. With that being said, there is a possibility that the internet may be out tomorrow at all WCS locations if the line is not repaired in time. Details will be shared as soon as we get them.

Criss Families: We are so excited to get started tomorrow. We wanted to review our arrival and dismissal procedures. ARRIVAL: You may begin dropping off your students at 7:30 at either set of double doors with awnings. Please pull to the curb and let your child exit out the curb side of the car. For the safety of your child, do not let them exit the vehicle in the middle of the street. There is NO parking on the street. Only students are to exit the car and go into the school. If you would like to walk your child to the front door, please park in our new parking lot at the end of the school and walk them to the main front doors. Kindergarten please refer to your welcome letter for the 1st 2 days. DISMISSAL - Kindergarten will dismiss out their classroom doors. First grade will dismiss out the first set of double door by Mrs. Lucas's room. Second and Fifth will dismiss out the front main doors. Third and Fourth will dismiss out the doors at the end of the school in the new parking lot. Third and Fourth parents need to drive behind the school and line up in the new parking lot. STUDENTS WITH SIBLINGS - For the convenience of our parents, siblings will all dismiss at the OLDEST sibling's dismissal location. Please be patient as the first few days we are learning our new families and our new families are learning our procedures.
